Biography

Dr. Acevedo graduated from Tulane University School of Biomedical Engineering where he  earned summa cum laude honors ( highest honors) prior to receiving his medical degree at the University Of Florida College Of Medicine.  He then completed his orthopedic residency at Georgia Baptist Medical Center followed by fellowship training in advanced foot & ankle reconstruction under the direction of Johns Hopkins Professors Mark Myerson, MD and Lew Schon, MD.  Dr. Acevedo is a is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of the American Orthopedic  Foot & Ankle Society as well as the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

 

 

He has been in practice for over 15 years at The Center for Bone & Joint Surgery of the Palm Beaches.  His clinical appointments include Assistant Clinical Voluntary Professor at the University of Miami School of Medicine, Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation in Miami, Florida; Past Director of the Diabetic Foot Care Center at Wellington Regional Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida; Past Vice Chief of Surgery at Wellington Regional Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida; and Member of the Board of Directors at Palms Wellington Surgical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.  He is the team physician for King’s Academy High School and routinely treats professional, college, and high school athletes.

 


 Dr. Acevedo is an orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon who specializes in arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques.  He lectures internationally on an extensive array of topics in the foot and ankle and has developed several arthroscopic and minimally invasive procedures.  He has received several honors and awards, including the Roger H. Michael/Johnston & Johnson Outstanding Fellow Research Award, Nominee for the Florida Choice Awards of Excellence in Patient Care, AOFAS Research Grant, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America Resident/Fellow Research Award.  Dr. Acevedo was recently an Honored Lecturer at the Annual American Vietnamese Seminar on Surgery of the Lower Extremity during an AOFAS directed medical mission.
